Consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon Mr Ali Narvani completed his medical training at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals medical school in 1996. This was followed by basic and higher surgical training at other NHS hospitals in London, including Chelsea & Westminster and St Mary’s.
After specialising in shoulder and elbow surgery, Ali’s next step was two prestigious fellowships. The first was as Paul Calvert Fellow, working under fellow London Shoulder Specialists surgeon Mr Andrew Wallace. The second was at the internationally-renowned Reading Shoulder Unit, working alongside Ofer Levy and Stephen Copeland. This super specialist training covered open and arthroscopic shoulder and elbow surgery, tendon repair, joint stability and replacement.
Since then, Ali has completed a MSc (Distinction) in Sports Medicine and has become a member of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine and has published extensively in the fields of orthopaedic and sports medicine. In 2010 he became consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Ashford & St Peter’s NHS Foundation Trust.

Publications, lectures and teaching
Ali is active in research and has published and presented extensively on shoulder and elbow surgery, sports injuries, and orthopaedic
He has over 45 ‘medline’ peer-reviewed publications and has regularly lectured nationally and internationally
Mr Narvani is an editor of a textbook in sports medicine and has authored a number of other book chapters in Orthopaedics and Sports Surgery
He has also been a member of faculty at a number of international shoulder courses
